The Filmmakers Behind ‘Making A Murderer’s’ Next Project: Johnson & Johnson and Its Antipsychotic Drug Risperdal

Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos, the writer-directors of the hit investigative series Making a Murderer, are teaming up with George Clooney to make a new real-life series about a pharmaceutical scandal.

The series will be based on Steven Brill’s Huffington Post article America’s Most Admired Lawbreaker which chronicled the scandal involving pharmaceutical giant Johnson & Johnson and its anti-psychotic drug Risperdal.

Johnson & Johnson agreed to pay more than $2.2bn in fines after it was accused of aggressively promoting Risperdal for unapproved uses, including the treatment of dementia patients and children with behavioural problems, and giving kickbacks to doctors.
