(OTCQB: TPIV), a clinical stage immunotherapy company, specializing in the development of innovative technologies for the treatment of metastatic cancer, announced today the successful conveyance of the Mayo Clinic IND (Investigational New Drug Application) to TapImmune as part of the recently completed licensing agreement. The transfer marks a critical step in reaching the Company's major milestone of initiating TapImmune's sponsored Phase 2 trials in patients with triple-negative breast cancer or ovarian cancer.
TapImmune recently announced positive Phase 1 clinical data from the Folate Receptor Alpha vaccine trial in patients with breast or ovarian cancer. This trial demonstrated the experimental therapy was safe, well-tolerated and provided a robust immune response in 20 out of 21 evaluable patients. The Company plans to utilize funds received from the recently exercised warrants from a previous financing, to sponsor Proof of Concept Phase 2 clinical studies in patients with triple negative breast or ovarian cancer under its own IND.
