MUNDELEIN, Ill., Feb. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Sysmex America today announced that it has obtained exclusive rights to market and distribute the Diesse VES-Matic Cube 200 System in the United States, said John Kershaw, President, Sysmex America, Inc. The agreement between Sysmex America and DIESSE Diagnostica Senese, S.p.A., an Italian corporation and its supplier, Diesse Inc., a Florida corporation and a subsidiary of DIESSE S.p.A., is effective February 1, 2007. Diesse is an Italian manufacturer known for its manufacturing quality and product excellence in serology testing and erythrocyte sedimentation systems.
"In keeping with Sysmex America's philosophy as a solutions provider, we believe the addition of the Diesse VES-Matic(TM) CUBE SYSTEM products will enhance our company's portfolio while ensuring our customers have access to instruments that improve workflow, safety and convenience for their clinical laboratories," said Kershaw.
Sysmex is expected to introduce the Diesse VES-Matic Cube 200 to the U.S. market this year, with the system first being unveiled at the CLMA ThinkLab '07 in Houston in March. The system can run up to 200 samples per hour, improving turn-around time without consuming or coming into contact with any sample. The Diesse family of products meets U.S. Quality System Regulations 21 C.F.R. 820 (QSRs) and International Standards Organization (ISO) 9001 requirements and guidelines.
Additionally, plans are under consideration for future integration of the VES-Matic Cube 200 to the Sysmex Network Communication System (SNCS), a remote diagnostic service, which will enhance instrument reliability and uptime.
"Throughout our twenty-five year history, Diesse has focused its efforts on developing solid market positions in the areas of hematology and infectious disease testing systems. To partner with a company like Sysmex America, who is a recognized industry leader in hematology, will provide us with continued sales growth and key market penetration," said Raul Alvarez, CEO of Diesse Inc.
About DIESSE Diagnostica Senese S.p.A.
Diesse was founded in 1982 as a result of a partnership between financial investors and top-level researchers with long-standing experience in clinical diagnostic products and systems' development. Already well-reputed for its manufacturing quality and product excellence in serology testing, Diesse developed a revolutionary method for determining the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR). Based on this technology, Diesse developed the VES-Matic(TM) SYSTEM, which reduces the turn-around time of ESR testing by more than fifty percent and eliminates the risk of direct exposure to blood samples. The VES-Matic Cube System offers added safety and convenience through the use of non-glass tubes and small sample volume requirements.
