(“SurgiCount”), the Company’s wholly owned subsidiary, has received a $2 Million purchase order from its national exclusive distribution partner of the Safety-Sponge™ System. The Safety-Sponge system utilizes data matrix tagged bulk and sterile gauze sponges in combination with line of sight scanning technology. This system allows the nurses to physically track and account for the individual sponges through the entire surgical procedure. SurgiCount’s patented computer assisted counting process has a direct positive impact on retained sponge incidents, nursing practices and patient safety.
