InControl Medical is pleased to announce the results of an independent research study concluding that the Company is the market leader for in-home devices for treating urinary incontinence.
Regarding the research report, Herschel (Buzz) Peddicord, CEO, says, “This is an independent report done by an independent research organization, and the analysis is spot on.” The report by Transparency Market Research states, “lnControl Medical is the market leader in electrical stimulation devices for treatment of all the types of urinary incontinence, both in males and females.” In fact, no one else is FDA-cleared for treatment of all types of urinary incontinence in women. Over-the-counter electrical stimulation devices ApexM and Apex, and prescription lnTone products, are being increasingly adopted in the U.S., the report states. The report also clearly shows a market trend moving away from catheters and toward electrical stimulation devices, which are expected to reach a market value of $849.9 million by 2025.
There are three types of incontinence – stress, urge and mixed. Numerous scientific studies and clinical reviews have found pelvic floor electrical stimulation to be a safe and effective therapy for the treatment of all three types of incontinence. InControl Medical offers a range of both over-the-counter and prescription products to help both women and men resolve this problem. In 2015, InControl Medical launched the first and only over-the-counter, FDA-cleared and patented, non-invasive, electrical stimulation device for women, ApexM.
“In April we announced a year-over-year 191% first quarter increase in sales, with 90,000 units having been sold so far,” says Herschel Peddicord. “Today we’re announcing that through June we’ve now sold 100,000 units. We’re not that surprised, and the results of the research study are clearly borne out by the numbers. This is a highly effective product that is improving the lives of women and men throughout the country, and the success stories from both women and medical professionals keep coming in. New products we’re developing this summer will do even more.”
