Stanbio Laboratory -- BOERNE, TX – September 9, 2008 – Stanbio Laboratory, L.P., a leader in medical testing and diagnostic devices, now offers Strep A extraction tubes as a separately cataloged item (6050-125) to address large volume customer needs.
“Our customers wanted the flexibility to purchase extraction tubes in addition to those included in our kits, so we created the new packaging. Having additional extraction tubes allows customers to use the entire kit of Strep A QuStick strips and avoid waste, thus decreasing their overall cost per test,” says Gilbert Mejia, U.S. Director of Sales. He goes on to say, “Unfortunately, customers sometimes lose extraction tubes at the point of care or reagent and sample mixing errors occur, so having the option to provide customers with extraction tubes that are packaged separately gives us a competitive advantage.”
CLIA Category Waived QuStick Strep A provides excellent levels of detection, with 91% agreement with rare culture classification (<5 colonies) and 100% agreement with 1+ culture classification (<10 colonies). These levels help in the accurate detection of positive specimens, since fewer colonies, at throat swab collection, are required to yield a positive result.
QuStick Strep A is economical, convenient, and its performance is guaranteed by three internal controls. The kit contains all materials required for testing: individually pouched test strips that assure product integrity, color-coded reagents and external controls, throat swabs, extraction tubes and a handy pictorial guide showing step-by-step instructions. In addition, QuStick Strep A is produced with a shelf life of 24 months from date of manufacture and may be stored at room temperature. A choice of 25 or 50 test set is available.
