Soundhawk Marries Hearing Aid To Mobile Tech, Raises $5.7 Million

A tunable hearing aid that can also do anything that Bluetooth earbuds can do is being developed by a Cupertino company that emerged from stealth this week with $5.7 million in funding. Soundhawk is the latest in a string of 14 companies started by Dr. Rodney Perkins, who also founded the California Ear Institute at Stanford University. Among his previous companies was Cytyc, sold for $6.2 billion in 2007.
