The laboratory will fill a current hole in clinical trial services in the Asian region – until now companies undertaking clinical trials in the Asian region have had to send their samples for analysis to either the US or Europe, which is both costly and time-consuming.
Dr Mandeville has full responsibility for all bioanalytical services in the $1.2 million laboratory to be housed at Science Park II, Gemini Building.
CPR Services’ CEO, Jason Valentine, said that Dr Mandeville is the perfect “fit” for the new laboratory . “Sylvain has more than 18 years of experience in the contract research industry – including 12 years at the management level,” he said. “He has demonstrated excellence in operating contract bioanalytical services in the domestic and international marketplace. Sylvain will lead the Singapore facility to become the “go-to” laboratory for large and medium sized pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies conducting particularly early phase clinical trials in in Asia.”
Dr. Mandeville’s background includes extensive management experience with bioanalytical services, including over eighteen years of experience in the contract research industry. Dr Mandeville also has had a career as a research scientist as well as extensive experience in the development, evaluation, and implementation of new bioanalytical methods required for maintaining and expanding activities of bioanalytical laboratories globally.
Prior to joining CPR Services, Dr Mandeville joined Ricerca Biosciences with the goal of re-engineering their bioanalytical department. And before Ricerca, Dr. Mandeville led bioanalytical and business development efforts for the Hungarian site of LAB Research Ltd where his responsibilities included the setting up of a bioanalytical department while supervising the operations of the bioanalytical services as wells as promoting the sales and marketing activities.
