Empire Genomics hosted Steve Case and the Revolution Team for the Rise of the Rest Tour at its location
in Buffalo, New York on September 30, 2015. Mr. Case discussed with company executives the healthcare
innovations taking place at their facility, and how it serves as a driver for economic development in the
local community. The company was chosen out of many other worthy firms in the area, and was the only
biotech organization toured.
Revolution’s “Rise of the Rest” with Steve Case is a nationwide effort to tell the story of how high-growth companies can start and scale anywhere, such as Baltimore, Buffalo, Manchester, Philadelphia, and Portland; not just in a few coastal cities. Mr. Case personally related to the mission of the company as he lost a brother to glioblastoma and knows of the effect the dreaded disease has on all involved. The company provided demonstrations for Mr. Case and team using its’ molecular technologies in cytogenetics, FISH, and next generation sequencing.
