Tas brings to SentiAR over a decade in the healthcare medical device industry at both large organizations and startups. Tas has led development of emerging technologies and companies in Fortune 500, private equity, venture capital funded and privately held organizations. Prior to joining SentiAR he led the development of a novel Transaortic Valve Replacement technology into CE Mark studies at HLT Medical. In 2016, he played an integral role in the acquisition of Sensium, Oxford UK, a novel wireless monitoring technology. Prior to that he served in various leadership roles at Sunshine Heart developing a first of its kind, heart failure therapy and at Boston Scientific developing several novel therapies and technologies focused in Cardiac Rhythm Management.

“I’m honored and excited by the opportunity to lead the team at SentiAR,” said Berk Tas. “I believe SentiAR’s breakthrough technology will transform the healthcare industry. 33 million people around the globe are affected by atrial fibrillation and the current cardiac ablation procedure reaches only 2% of the population. I’m motivated by SentiAR’s objective to reduce the complexity of the procedure in order to democratize access to it and ultimately, save more lives.”

SentiAR’s mission is to transform the experience for both patient and clinician in interventional procedures with a 3D augmented reality platform featuring real-time holographic visualization of the patient’s actual anatomy, floating over the patient. The visualization is fully controllable hands-free by the clinician, providing an ergonomic breakthrough for the treatment and analysis of cardiac arrhythmias within an interventional catheter lab environment. SentiAR is developing the platform for an FDA submission this year.

“We’re delighted to have Berk join our leadership team,” said Jennifer Silva, MD, CMO and Co-Founder. “He has an impressive background in engineering and domain expertise in both cardiac electrophysiology and structural heart. Berk has a proven track record at both large organizations and startups and his entrepreneurial spirit will help take SentiAR through the next phase of growth.”

Tas holds an MBA from the Carlson School of Business at the University of Minnesota and a BS in Electrical Engineering and Physics from the School of Engineering at University of St Thomas.
