About Scripps Genomic Medicine
An initiative of Scripps Health and The Scripps Research Institute, Scripps Genomic Medicine is an innovative program in which genomic researchers, clinicians and other specialists are working side-by-side to advance medicine. Current projects include the genotyping of tens of thousands of individuals of diverse ancestry to identify and define genes that are responsible for major disease and the underpinnings of health. Through The Scripps Translational Science Institute, this basic research will be translated into drug discovery programs and, ultimately, clinical trials. These trials, launched through Scripps Advanced Clinical Trials, will test individualized treatment and prevention strategies in collaboration with pharmaceutical, medical device, biotechnology and diagnostic companies.
