Paris - France, July 01, 2008 - Scient'x S.A., a privately-held company dedicated to spinal implants, announced today the strengthening of its R&D department. Scient'x, continuing its growth and expansion plans, has recently made two key additions to its Research and Development Team. Scient’x has always had product and technology innovation at its core. These senior managers have extensive spine and orthopedic experience and will reinforce the existing talented development team. Their creativity and experience, combined with the company’s investment in R&D will significantly bolster the product portfolio and accelerate the technology development process. Mr. Robert BROSNAHAN, VP of Product Development

Mr. Robert Brosnahan will be in charge of product development worldwide. He will work with the product development teams in both the US and France as the company executes a series of strategic product development initiatives including new technology platforms, expanded custom and prototype capacity as well as implementing a streamlined product development process.

Mr. Brosnahan brings with him over 26 years of experience in the medical device industry. Most of his career was spent with Smith & Nephew where he held various positions such as "Group Director, Product Development and Regulatory Affairs", "Group Director Product Development Implants", and "VP Technology Licensing". He recently was working with Enteroptyx Inc. as Senior VP R&D where he led a team of product development engineers. His career has allowed him to build a broad industry knowledge and become a medical product development engineering executive.

Mr. Brosnahan holds an MBA from University of Memphis, TN as well as a Master degree in Biomedical engineering from the Clemson University. Over his career he has issued a number of US patents as well as publications.

Mr. Emmanuel ZYLBER, R&D Director Mr. Emmanuel Zylber will be responsible for the development and execution of the R&D strategy, participating in the development of the company's product portfolio and project pipeline. He will work to maintain and optimize the global product development process. He will also serve as the company's front figure on technologies and trends on the market. Mr. Zylber brings with him over nine years of R&D experience, of which, eight years was spent in the spinal implant business. In his most recent position, Mr Zylber served as Principal Engineer at Zimmer Spine where he was responsible for the development of dynamic stabilization implants. He coordinated projects with designing surgeons and maintained the company’s development process with crossfunctional teams including quality assurance and regulatory affairs. He has extensive experience with the development of global product platforms and design control procedures.

Mr. Zylber holds a Master degree in Mechanical Engineering with majors in Material Sciences from the Ecole Nationale d'Ingénieurs de Tarbes.
