Over 40 million adults suffer from indoor and outdoor allergies in the United States. During the fall, many people suffer from allergy triggers such as ragweed and dust mites. The contest is meant to help people say farewell to disruptive allergy symptoms now that fast (starts working at hour one), long-lasting, non-drowsy relief is available over-the-counter from Allegra.
“During my time on the show, I had nowhere to escape when I had a bad allergy day,” said former Survivor winner, radio personality and mother of two, Danni Boatwright. “Now, I’m juggling work and being a mom and I need to be able to keep up with life’s daily adventures. Allegra is my go-to solution for allergy season so I was excited to help get the word out and invite people to enter the Allergy Adventures contest.”
Starting today, consumers can visit Facebook.com/AllegraOTC to submit a short video (60 seconds or less) showing how uncontrolled allergies can disrupt one’s daily routine. From August 8 through September 2, all videos submitted during the 4-week promotion will be reviewed by Danni, who will choose up to 10 finalists. Consumers will have two weeks to vote for their choice of the grand prize winner, who will receive a $5,000 travel gift card towards a trip of his or her choice. Official contest rules, prize information, and instructions on entering the contest are available on the site.
No time to submit a video? Consumers can also enter in a sweepstakes on the Allegra OTC Facebook page for a chance to win one of six $100 travel gift cards. No purchase is necessary to enter or win the video contest or sweepstakes.
To further prepare the millions of Americans with allergies for fall allergy season, Allegra is also teaming up with The Weather Channel to air abbreviated stories on The Weather Channel network. The stories will feature situations when allergies have disrupted plans, such as a dog trainer about to teach a class, a runner before starting a marathon, or a father with his son during their first backpacking trip. A cross-platform effort, consumers can then go to weather.com/allergyadventures to see the full stories and learn more information about allergies.
