Research Triangle Park, NC November 11, 2019 Rho’s Kristin Gabor was honored on November 8 at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s (CFF) annual “Brewer’s Ball Celebrating Triangle’s Finest” event that took place at The Rickhouse in Durham. Gabor was one of five honorees for Triangle’s Finest, a program for Triangle-area young professionals committed to professional development and personal growth through fundraising and awareness. Finest honorees exemplify strong leadership qualities, are active in their community, and have excelled in their chosen professions.

Gabor was introduced to cystic fibrosis through an internship she completed as part of her undergraduate coursework and the experience served as a catalyst for her career in biomedical science. Since 2017, in her role as a research scientist at Rho, Gabor has led and supported cross‑functional teams and projects of varying scope, including full-service clinical studies and regulatory submission programs. She has had the opportunity to work on multiple CF projects, including on some therapeutics in the early development phase as well as some products that are already being used in clinical studies.

“I am so honored to be recognized as one the Triangle’s Finest honorees this year,” said Gabor. She added, “I am extremely thankful for the support I’ve received from Rho, and my experience working with the CFF-Carolinas chapter has introduced me to caregivers, advocates, and volunteers in the CF community that inspire me to help drive the cause forward as we continue to work for a cure.”

Gabor organized several fundraisers, including a bake sale at Rho, a dining out restaurant event, multiple happy hour events, and a Camp Gladiator class. She is appreciative of the support that local businesses have given in hosting these fundraisers.

“It’s rare to find the passion and drive that Kristin possesses, and it is evident in everything she does professionally and personally,” said Meagan Vaughn, Gabor’s nominator and a former recipient of the Triangle’s Finest award. “Her dedication to finding a cure for CF is evident through her work at Rho as well as her many contributions as a volunteer with Tomorrow’s Leaders. Nominating Kristin for Triangle’s Finest was both an honor and obvious choice, and I couldn’t be more proud to watch her excel in this program!”
