BROOKFIELD, Wis., April 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- RF Technologies®, a leading provider of radio frequency identification (RFID) healthcare safety and security solutions, announced today the release of renewed alarm units for their Sensatec® Fall Management Solution, bringing added features to staff in senior living communities, hospitals, and rehabilitation facilities.
The restraint-free Fall Management Solution monitors patients or residents at risk of falling. Sensatec ST alarm units will replace existing units, and are now available in models ST610, ST620, ST630 and ST640.
Refreshed models have a faster audible cadence to help differentiate Sensatec from other alarming devices, ensuring alarms are answered and reducing risk. New volume control buttons on the ST630 and ST640 models enable staff to easily adjust an alarm’s volume to better manage room noise levels.
“The updates to our Sensatec units make it easier for caregivers and medical staff to monitor those under their care,” said Larry Cinpinski, vice president of sales and marketing, Sensatec. “We used feedback from our customers to add features that would be most useful and effective for them. As always, Sensatec alerts staff in advance of a potential fall, therefore reducing the potential for injury.”
All models include auto-on and auto-reset features, which start monitoring patients when they’re positioned on a non-slip bed or chair pad. If a patient attempts to leave a bed or chair, Sensatec immediately alerts staff via an audible alarm. An adjustable delay function on the ST640 model will enable residents or patients to reposition themselves on a pad before the unit alarms. Components are made in the USA and require minimal training to operate.
“Sensatec elements are lightweight and discreet, and easily blend into a senior living community or hospital to create a comfortable, home-like environment,” Cinpinski said.
If communities or hospitals already have a nurse call system in place, Sensatec alarms integrate with the majority of existing bedside nurse call systems through a universal jack or adapter, providing discreet notification for a quieter environment.
