August 27, 2013 -- Jill Arnott, a senior member of the customer care team at R-Biopharm Rhône, the manufacturer and Scotland’s biggest exporter of diagnostic test kits, has been appointed to the key role of Customer Service Manager.
Jill, who took up her post last month (July), will head the department which oversees all aspects of order handling and delivery and will be responsible for maintaining the company’s reputation for speed and efficiency.
The 49-year-old from Auchinloch, near Kirkintilloch, takes over from Robert Muir, who has retired from R-Biopharm Rhône after 16 years. She will be in charge of a team of three customer service specialists.
Jill, who has been with the Glasgow-based company for two years, has a distinguished track record in customer service, including working with the UK flag carrier British Airways. She also worked for her family’s garage and courier business and held a senior position at a major logistics and transport company.
Her appointment will maintain a consistency of customer service strategy at R-Biopharm Rhône, which recorded its best ever year last year with record figures for sales, profits and staff numbers.
She said: “Bob Muir had built up an outstanding customer service department at R-Biopharm Rhône with a cast-iron commitment to putting the customer at the forefront of everything we do.
“I am inheriting a terrific team and I look forward to enhancing its capabilities and making a significant contribution to the company’s continuing growth in a challenging and competitive sector.”
R-Biopharm Rhône supplies testing kits both to food companies which have their own diagnostic laboratories and to private labs serving the food and agriculture industries. It also sells to public sector labs which are engaged in food testing as part of the government’s statutory duty to ensure food safety.
It sells more than 75% of its output outside the UK to global food manufacturing businesses. The remaining sales are mainly in England.
