SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwired - June 07, 2013) - PURE Bioscience, Inc. (OTCQB: PURE), the creator of the patented silver dihydrogen citrate (SDC) antimicrobial, shipped an opening order of PURE Hard Surface and PURE Multi-Purpose Cleaner Concentrate to European distributor and Italian export consortium, TICE.

“We have placed this order as part of our initial campaign of customer trials and evaluation,” said Dosolino Marangon, president of TICE. “We have been receiving a positive response to our education and marketing campaigns for PURE products, and anticipate a successful product launch in Italy followed by introductions in more than 25 additional European countries.”

Since PURE announced its partnership with TICE in September 2012, TICE has been pursuing the necessary REACH requirements to distribute PURE’s disinfecting and cleaning products in the European Union. REACH, which stands for registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction of chemicals, represents the European Community’s regulation on chemicals and their safe use. REACH also mandates the progressive substitution of the most dangerous chemicals when suitable alternatives have been identified. TICE has filed the REACH pre-registration of PURE Hard Surface, PURE Multi-Purpose cleaner concentrate and PURE Floor Cleaner with the European Chemical Agency (ECHA), authorizing TICE by European law to import and distribute PURE Products throughout Europe.

“This shipment and the REACH filing are milestone events for our company,” said Michael L. Krall, PURE Bioscience’s president and CEO. “We appreciate the time, resources and investment TICE has committed to gain regulatory clearance for distribution of PURE products in Italy and elsewhere in Europe. We look forward to this first commercial launch of PURE across Europe.”
