SAN CARLOS, Calif., June 6, 2016 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Protein Metrics today introduced Supernovo, the industry's first software to automate what has been a lengthy manual process of de novo sequencing of monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) by mass spectrometry. Supernovo enables discovery scientists to quickly sequence hundreds or thousands of monoclonal antibodies against a biological target.

Supernovo software runs 'hands free,' which means that it automatically assembles individual peptide sequences into the full protein sequence. Results are displayed in a unique inspection framework so that scientists can review them efficiently prior to reporting out a validated sequence.
The software also allows scientists who no longer have the hybridoma to recover full sequences for proteins.
