MARQUETTE, Mich., Sept. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Pioneer Surgical Technology, a leading innovator in the design and manufacture of spinal and orthopedic implants, announced that Wesley McDermott has joined as Vice President of New Business Development.
McDermott will be responsible for business cases at the concept stage of the product development pipeline, including the process for evaluating and acquiring outside technologies.

Prior to joining Pioneer, McDermott was group manager of business development for Boston Scientific Corporation’s Cardiac Rhythm Management division. With more than 10 years of experience in medical device R&D and business development roles, McDermott has demonstrated a successful track record within the industry.

McDermott holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, a Masters Degree from M.I.T., and the executive MBA degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
