The EnterprisePlus arm of the Royal Society of Chemistry, responsible for investing in and supporting small and medium sized businesses hosted the first annual ‘Chemistry Means Business’ event, dedicated to help promote business, recruit the right people, explore opportunities and available resources to help stimulate future growth, held at the Royal College of Physicians in London.
In the first of its kind, Chemistry Means Business looked at giving small business owners the chance to network with a mix of chemical-using companies of different size, who also have been nominated in a wide range of varied disciplines including:

Creativity in Industry Prize
Inspiration and Industry Award
Materials for Industry Award
Teamwork in Innovation Award
Young Industrialist of the Year Award
The day offered many networking opportunities and the chance to share knowledge on subjects around the chemistry as a business entity. Concluding with pre-dinner drinks reception and a showcase the prestigious Industry & Technology Awards Ceremony, hosted by comedian and presenter Sandi Toksvig OBE, celebrating excellence throughout the industry.
With pre-dinner drinks reception and exhibition - a showcase of EnterprisePlus companies and networking followed by the Industry & Technology Awards Ceremony.
During the evening was the black tie dinner award ceremony, which celebrated recent achievements from the chemical science industries discussing entrepreneurship, outreach and innovation, giving networking opportunity for chemical using companies from a range of sizes and specialities giving all participants the opportunity to meet the award winners.
