New Penile Cuff Advanced Technology Eliminates Urinary Leakage, Discomfort, and Impaired Blood Flow Associated With Traditional Penile Clamps
VANCOUVER, BC (September 24, 2018) – Pacey MedTech Ltd., a Vancouver-based company, today announced that they have created the Pacey Cuff™, a urethral control device (UCD) that is an effective and reliable solution to urinary incontinence (UI) in men; specifically those who have undergone prostate cancer treatment. UI is one of the greatest challenges for men post prostatectomy. Traditionally, men with incontinence depend on adult diapers/pads, external catheters, leg bags, medication, and penile clamps. These options may be costly, leak, have odor, and produce extreme discomfort. Artificial sphincter surgery is also an option; however, additional surgery is not always possible or wanted by patients with UI.
Prostate Cancer is the most common cancer in Canadian men, with one in seven facing a diagnosis during his lifetime. The problem of leakage post-radical prostatectomy is widespread and well known to urologists. The Prostate Cancer Foundation reports that about 24 per cent of men experience frequent leakage or no bladder control at six months after prostatectomy.
The Pacey Cuff stops urinary leakages and reduces the dependency on absorption pads by up to 100 per cent. They are more comfortable than traditional penile clamps as they maintain consistent and effective blood flow to the penis. The Pacey Cuff is designed for compression of the urethra to minimize leakage and also to protect the blood circulation in the topside of the penis eliminating possible blood supply restriction pain. The Pacey Cuff was created to be light, soft and comfortable to ensure customers can discretely wear it all day, continue to live a normal life, and engage in regular activities. For a custom fit, the Pacey Cuff can also be adjusted by its Velcro strap.

About Pacey MedTech
Pacey MedTech is a privately held Vancouver-based company that is focused on incontinence research. Dr. Jack Pacey, a medical doctor and vascular surgeon for 30 years, has developed the revolutionary Pacey Cuff to solve men’s urinary incontinence issues in a way that wasn’t possible before. Pacey MedTech’s mission is to revolutionize the incontinence industry by creating products that will be the new standard for incontinence.
The Pacey Cuff UCD has three distinct functional components: 1) The distributed-pressure fenestrated hood for placement on the top-side of the penis, with two arms separated by a fenestration, to distribute pressure so that the venous and arterial blood flows are not compromised; 2) The elongated urethral compression pad to distribute pressure along a length of the under-side of the penis, so that the urethra is compressed to stop unwanted urine flow; 3) A Velcro strap that joins the two sides of the device and allows the patient to comfortably secure the UCD. This unique design compliments the male anatomy, since the major vein and artery lie on the topside, and the urethra lies on the underside. By applying pressure to a length of the urethra, while limiting pressure on the blood vessels, UCD’s design surpasses clamps that have been shown to occlude blood flow.
The Pacey Cuff allows men who experience incontinence to live a more normal life. The Pacey Cuff can be worn all day — keeping men dry, happy and health. It is comfortable, stops urine flow, maintains blood flow, is fully adjustable, fits all men, and saves money. For more information on Pacey MedTech and the Pacey Cuff go to www.paceycuff.com.
