Updated software expands capabilities for creative compound exploration and design on the iPad®
CAMBRIDGE, UK and OCEANSIDE, CA, USA, 10 August 2015 – Optibrium™ and Integrated Chemistry Design, providers of software solutions and services for drug discovery, today announced the release of Asteris 1.1, an updated version of the iPad app that delivers highly intuitive chemistry drawing tools with the most visually informative predictive modelling. The latest version of Asteris combines enhanced chemical drawing tools with new and improved gesture recognition for the touch environment. This includes a new chemistry “groups” panel of commonly used chemistry templates, enabling users to explore a much wider range of chemistry designs more quickly. Instant feedback from Asteris’ predictive models, guided by the unique Glowing Molecule™ visualisation, has also been extended with the introduction of new predictive models for properties, including drug volume of distribution in human.
Dr Matthew Segall, Optibrium’s CEO, commented, “Asteris now offers our users an enhanced workflow, enabling them to design new compound ideas much more rapidly and, with an extended range of property predictions, identify high quality compound designs.”
Dr M. Catherine Johnson, President and CEO of Integrated Chemistry Design added, “We are excited that the new functional groups panel and perspective templates in Asteris will accelerate the rapid exploration of lead compound analogue ideas for medicinal chemists. The newly added PAINS count and the volume of distribution models will facilitate medicinal chemistry decision making at any project stage.”
Asteris 1.1 will be launched at the American Chemical Society (ACS) Fall 2015 National Meeting & Expo in Boston, Massachusetts, 16-20 August, where you can visit Optibrium (booth #417) and Integrated Chemistry Design (booth #1225) to see Asteris in action.
From 16 August, Asteris can be downloaded from the App StoreSM - for more information please visit www.asteris-app.com.
