Abingdon, UK; 19th February 2019 - OBN, the Membership organisation supporting the UK’s innovative life sciences companies, is pleased to announce today the launch of its new online Purchasing Platform. The aim of the new Purchasing Platform, which can be accessed by OBN’s Full Members, Sponsors and Supporters, is to enable users to have a better overview and control of spend and save time and money.
The OBN Purchasing Consortium, in its 10th year, was set up to give OBN Full Members, Supporters and Sponsors access to discounts from specific suppliers through their websites. The new Purchasing Platform, sponsored by Fisher Scientific and provided by ELCOM, is a cloud-based procurement solution which allows members to place orders directly with OBN’s preferred suppliers online via the Portal. Fisher Scientific Punch-out is now available and provides a direct link to the Fisher Scientific website via the Purchasing Platform, allowing for live availability of stock and price.
OBN Members will also have access to catalogues for Activ Business Solutions for office supplies, Air Liquide for dry ice and cylinder gases,Destination Cloud for IT supplies, ESC Power for UPS and power distribution and OSC Furniture for laboratory seating. More suppliers will be added to the Platform over the course of the coming months.
The new Purchasing Platform will offer various benefits to OBN Members, including:

The Platform will be free for Full Members, Supporters and Sponsors to access for the first year, from 1 February 2020 there will be an increase to Full Membership fees to support this.
