Nutter McClennen & Fish, LLP Continues To Expand In Biotech And Pharma IP

Lana A. Gladstein joins firm as partner, brings extensive experience

(Boston, MA) – Nutter McClennen & Fish LLP announced today that Lana A. Gladstein has joined the firm as a partner in Intellectual Property, adding her considerable life sciences expertise to the firm’s highly regarded IP practice. Gladstein’s practice focuses on strategic uses of intellectual property for biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, including patent litigation, contested proceedings at the U.S. Patent Office, and product exclusivity guidance. Gladstein joins Nutter from Pepper Hamilton LLP in Boston where she was a partner.

Gladstein has extensive experience in all phases of complex intellectual property litigation and represents clients in patent infringement, licensing, and contract disputes, appeals to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and in contested proceedings before the USPTO. Following the enactment of the America Invents Act, she has been representing clients in numerous inter partes review proceedings. “It is an honor to be a part of Nutter’s superb group of professionals focused on the business of life sciences companies,” Gladstein said.

A frequent speaker and commentator on legislative and FDA regulatory developments in the areas of drugs, biologics, and medical devices, Gladstein co-chairs the Legal & Regulatory Working Group at MassBio, and is a mentor in the MIT Enterprise Forum’s Mentor Smart program.

She received her B.A., cum laude, in biology from Brandeis University and her J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law. During law school, she clerked for the Honorable Margaret H. Marshall, Chief Justice of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts.
