Lincoln Novartis workers who already have lost their jobs, as well as those who will be laid off during the next two years, will qualify to apply for federal trade assistance. The U.S. Department of Labor has certified a petition for Trade Adjustment Assistance, finding the workers are losing their jobs at least in part because of foreign competition. Novartis announced in April that it was going to streamline manufacturing at its Lincoln plant at 10401 U.S. 6 to just three brands: Excedrin, Theraflu and veterinary drug Sentinel.
