New Seattle Biopharmaceutical Company Formed

Seattle, Washington, September 3, 2013 – RAiN BioScience, a Delaware corporation, is pleased to announce its formation today. RAiN BioScience will focus on the creation of therapeutics for unmet medical needs using an approach known as “antisense”, a technology that is emerging as a perfect match for the rapid development of specialty drugs for diseases that are difficult to treat. Because antisense drugs cannot enter cells well, RAiN BioScience will develop technology that will help antisense drugs reach their intracellular sites of action. The project will be validated with a product designed to treat cancer.

The founders of RAiN BioScience are Christian Eckhoff (55) and Brian Leppert (33). Drs. Eckhoff and Leppert acquired expertise in the design of oligonucleotide therapeutics while working for Sarepta Therapeutics at the company’s former Bothell, WA site.

RAiN BioScience will be operating out of space leased in the Freemont neighborhood of Seattle.
