GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., April 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Neurocore, leading provider of brain performance training, today announced the appointment of Dr. Majid Fotuhi, MD, PhD, a pioneer in the field of neuroscience, as the company’s first Chief Medical Officer. For more than 25 years, Dr. Fotuhi has been a groundbreaking brain health researcher, thought-leader and practicing clinician in the areas of memory and cognitive improvement. The addition of Dr. Fotuhi will help facilitate continued improvements in Neurocore client outcomes to support the company’s future growth.
“Dr. Fotuhi brings to Neurocore a new dimension of insight and knowledge,” said Chief Executive Officer Mark Murrison. “Dr. Fotuhi’s cutting-edge research proves that we can strengthen the brain at any age and even reverse the aging process. We are actively integrating this research into our business model to build upon Neurocore’s successful neurofeedback program and take the company to new heights. This will expand our service offerings to also meet the needs of an aging population that has a strong desire to not just be physically fit, but mentally fit.”
As an integral member of the company’s executive leadership team, Dr. Fotuhi will closely work with Neurocore’s Chief Science Officer, Dr. Elyse White, on the development of new client programs, the execution of clinical studies and on engaging fellow medical professionals to promote Neurocore’s exceptional services and outcomes.
“I have dedicated my career to empowering people to take control of their brain health and achieve true wellness,” said Dr. Fotuhi. “Neurocore is doing just that, changing lives by improving clients’ brains. We share a common vision to bring an effective, non-invasive solution for improving brain health to as many people as we can. The possibility of what we will accomplish together in the future is truly invigorating.”
Dr. Fotuhi received his MD degree (cum laude) from Harvard Medical School and his doctoral PhD degree in Neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His initial clinical research at Johns Hopkins focused on basic brain neurochemistry and finding effective, proven methodologies for preventing dementia without medical intervention.
The author of several books, including Boost Your Brain: The New Art and Science Behind Enhanced Brain Performance, Dr. Fotuhi has been featured in two PBS programs, “Conquering Memory Loss” and “Fight Alzheimer’s Early.” The Journal of Prevention of Alzheimer’s Disease recently published the results of a study Dr. Fotuhi led assessing the outcomes of his proprietary 12-week “Brain Fitness Program.” The study demonstrated his program improves cognitive function, and can reverse aging by significantly increasing brain size.
Dr. Fotuhi is a lecturer at Harvard Medical School, an active member of the American Academy of Neurology, American Medical Association, International Brain Research Organization and Society for Neuroscience. Additionally, Dr. Fotuhi and his research have been featured on ABC News, CBS News, NBC’s TODAY show, FOX News, the Dr. Oz Show, the Discovery Channel, The Boston Globe, USA Today, Forbes, BusinessWeek, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Health and more.
