N.C. Secretary of Revenue Norris Tolson said he sees his new role with the N.C. Biotechnology Center as a chance to bolster one of the state’s brightest new industries.On Tuesday, the center’s board of directors named Tolson, a Pinetops native, as its new president and chief executive officer. He has served as its vice president since 2005 and as its interim leader since January.
