A new study on mice could overturn current thinking on female reproductive biology and offer new hope to women with fertility problems, scientists said on Wednesday. Researchers at Harvard Medical School have discovered that female mice are not born with a limited number of eggs but can produce new ones in adulthood -- contrary to the common view the number of female eggs is fixed at birth and declines with age.
