MAHWAH, N.J., Nov. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Mindray Medical International Limited (NYSE: MR), a leading developer, manufacturer and marketer of medical devices worldwide, today announced that it will showcase the latest enhancements to the DC-8 ultrasound system at the 98th Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America to be held during November 25-30, 2012 in Chicago.(RSNA Booth: 7235, North Hall). The DC-8 v1.5 enhancements are designed to increase system performance in a wide variety of diagnostic imaging clinical applications.
“Mindray continues to innovate and provide unsurpassed economic value to our customers,” said Michael Thompson, Vice President of Ultrasound Sales, Mindray North America. “The v1.5 release expands the DC-8’s ability to simplify and enhance the clinical experience with easier image acquisition and superior image quality. Focusing on advances in 3D and general imaging capabilities, we believe the DC-8 system has the potential to improve patient management, increase ease of use, and enhance users’ overall level of confidence.”
One of the new enhancements to the DC-8 ultrasound system is the Multi-Slice feature, which allows the display of multiple 2D images, derived from one 3D volume data set, on one page for easy viewing. This improves 3D image analysis and creates a similar workflow to traditional review of CT exams. In addition, iPage allows users to view slices on any reference point on a 3D plane.
Not only does the DC-8 now support measurements on 3D MPR images and 3D color, it also uses Mindray’s Multi-Beam Parallel Imaging Technology, which integrates advanced imaging technologies to produce optimized images with minimal user involvement. When combined with the system’s echo-enriched beamformer, the DC-8 produces excellent images. Its ergonomic solutions address every part of the user’s body that interacts with the device, improving procedural efficiency and reducing repetitive actions. A new user interface enables logical and efficient workflow while ensuring a more convenient operation. For example, iWorks is a powerful protocol management system beneficial for an experienced sonographer, a student or visiting physician, allowing the user to focus on the patient and spend less time on operational steps and keystrokes.
In addition to enhancements to the DC-8, Mindray will also be showcasing its expanding family of ultrasound systems, including the M7, M5, DP 50, DP-7, DC-7, DC-T6, and DC-3 at the RSNA. All systems allow for upgrades, which will optimize the return on investment for users.
