CAMBRIDGE, Mass., June 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Metabolix, Inc. (NASDAQ: MBLX), an innovation-driven bioscience company focused on delivering sustainable solutions for plastics, chemicals and energy, today announced that its executives will be presenting at two leading industry conferences in June. Metabolix President and Chief Executive Officer Richard P. Eno will discuss trends in the biopolymers industry at Smithers Rapra’s Biopolymers Symposium 2013 on June 11, and he will moderate a panel at the Biotechnology Industry Organization’s (BIO) 10th Annual World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology on June 19. In addition, Max Senechal, Metabolix’s vice president of biobased chemicals, will discuss commercialization strategies for renewable chemicals at BIO World Congress on June 17.

At the Biopolymers Symposium, Mr. Eno will participate in a panel discussion with executives from NatureWorks and Virent. The session will focus on the future of biopolymers, and Mr. Eno will address Metabolix’s experience working with customers to achieve commercial success.
At the BIO World Congress on Industrial Biotechnology, Mr. Senechal will participate in the “Renewable Chemicals through Strain Engineering and Process Optimization” panel discussion. Executives and researchers from Green Biologics, zuChem, PRAJ-Matrix and the University of Illinois will also be part of the session. Separately, Mr. Eno will be moderating the “Biomanufacturing at Commercial Scale” panel discussion on commercializing renewable chemicals with executives from Genomatica, Myriant, Clariant and Ajinomoto.
