Medical device titan Medtronic warns more than 2,700 patients that a box containing records and potentially confidential information has gone missing from a Minnesota facility. Minnesota medical device giant Medtronic (NYSE:MDT) issued a notice earlier this month warning more than 2,500 patients that their private information may be compromised after a box containing records went missing from a company facility. There have been no reports yet of the missing information being misused, and most of the missing data wasn’t “sensitive or intrusive,” but “it’s possible that additional information was in the box, including insurance company data, contact information and limited patient records,” Medtronic spokesperson Cindy Resman told the Pioneer Press.
