Medline Industries, Inc. Awarded Monitoring Electrodes Agreement Through MedAssets Pre-Commitment Program

MUNDELEIN, IL--(Marketwire - February 22, 2011) - Medline Industries, Inc., the nation’s largest privately held manufacturer and distributor of healthcare supplies, announced today that it was awarded a contracting agreement for monitoring electrodes from MedAssets, a leading financial improvement partner to more than 4,000 acute-care hospitals and 90,000 non-acute healthcare providers.

This agreement demonstrates MedAssets’ continued commitment to the pre-commitment model, which aggregates customers’ committed purchasing volume and increases their percentage of savings for non-labor supplies and services. The three-year agreement runs through February 2014. The agreement is estimated to be worth up to $22 million, based on expected annual purchase volume.

The contracting agreement includes Medline’s complete line of monitoring electrodes designed for use hospital-wide, including specialized electrodes for ICU/CCU, surgery, emergency services, stress testing, holter monitoring and the NICU.
