Medarex, Inc. Announces Exercise Of Option To Purchase Additional Shares By Underwriters

PRINCETON, N.J., May 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Medarex, Inc. announced today that on May 5, 2006, the underwriters exercised in full their option to purchase 1.5 million shares of common stock associated with Medarex’s public stock offering that priced at $11.75 per share, before underwriting discounts and commissions, on April 6, 2006. The exercise of the option to purchase additional shares increases the size of the offering to 11.5 million shares of common stock, resulting in net proceeds to Medarex of approximately $128 million.

Goldman, Sachs & Co. acted as the sole book-running manager for the offering. J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. acted as the joint lead manager of the offering. Janney Montgomery Scott LLC served as a co-manager.
