DENVER, Nov. 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Matrix Analytics releases Version 3.0 of its revolutionary pulmonary incidentaloma and lung screening management software. LungDirect v3.0 includes new feature SmartFlow, an innovative and time efficient way for providers to manage patients and patient data. SmartFlow allows users to customize their roles and assignments within the application, effectively providing individualized workflows and management of tasks. A revamped user interface and enhanced patient letter templates improve upon current workflows, while machine automation unburdens users from low level tasks, allowing providers to focus at the top of their license. Version 3.0 represents the second major overhaul of LungDirect since its June 2016 launch, and because of its cloud-based infrastructure, all updates are rolled out seamlessly and at no extra cost to hospitals.

Dr. Akrum Alzubaidi, founder of Matrix Analytics and an Interventional Pulmonologist at National Jewish Health, says, “We were very intentional with our SmartFlow development. V3.0 addresses both the clinical and end user need to optimize patient care. Our current customers report spending a quarter of the time managing the same patient population with LungDirect as they did prior to the application. The machine automation within Version 3.0 will decrease the time spent even further. Additionally, recent data shows there is a 50% increase in clinical guideline follow-up just by sending a follow-up letter to a patient. SmartFlow automates patient letter population, reducing the number of patients lost to follow-up.”

Matrix Analytics is focused on increasing the distribution of LungDirect, and by year end, LungDirect will be deployed in 20 hospitals nationwide. This marks a significant milestone for Matrix Analytics in helping healthcare systems manage the 1.5 million pulmonary nodules that are detected incidentally by CT scan each year. As it stands, 85% of all lung cancer patients are identified late stage when the mortality rate is very high. Matrix Analytics is committed to improving upon these statistics through efficient, accurate and time-saving workflows and machine automation.

About Matrix Analytics: Matrix Analytics believes conquering illness and disease requires data, creativity, and an unrelenting focus on Always Learning. First in our sights: Lung Cancer. Despite recent clinical advancements and available technology, an integrated solution to drive the consistent and efficient detection, diagnosis, and treatment of pulmonary nodules and lung cancer does not exist. LungDirect is the first line of defense in the fight. LungDirect registers pulmonary incidentaloma nodules and screening patients to a dashboard and makes a user aware of these patients so they can be followed and treated according to standard clinical care guidelines. LungDirect represents the first product application by Matrix Analytics.
