(Stoke-on-Trent) - Lucideon, the international provider of materials development, testing and assurance to the healthcare industries, is pleased to announce the appointment of Sean Borkowski as healthcare technical sales consultant. Sean has a BSc in Biomedical Engineering from Rutgers University and a PhD in the same subject from UCLA. His PhD focused on orthopaedic biomechanics and his thesis aimed to establish and quantify the efficacy and safety of spine deformity correction techniques. “Sean is a great addition to the team. He brings extensive experience in the testing of implants, techniques and surgical devices as well as technical expertise in load and movement testing, ASTM testing and experimental design. “Sean will be the first port of call for our healthcare clients in North America, acting as a conduit between them and our technical teams to ensure that their materials and product challenges are solved quickly and effectively.”
Lucideon has recently opened new wear testing facilities at its US headquarters in Schenectady, NY, and its UK headquarters in Stoke-on-Trent, adding to its wide range of services for orthopaedic implant manufacturers.
