BRISTOL, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--King Pharmaceuticals (NYSE: KG) announced today that its board of directors has appointed Brian A. Markison to succeed Ted G. Wood as the chairman of the company’s board. The appointment will be effective at the close of the company’s May 2007 annual meeting of shareholders. Mr. Wood will remain a member of King’s board and will serve as lead independent director. Mr. Markison will continue as King's president and chief executive officer.
