WILMINGTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Kapa Biosystems, Inc., a leading supplier of reagents for the life science market, today announced that its KAPA Library Preparation Kits have been selected for use in the 100K Foodborne Pathogen Genome Project, an innovative collaboration between the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the University of California, Davis, Agilent Technologies Inc., and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The five-year effort aims to create the largest public database of 100,000 foodborne pathogen genomes to help speed the identification of bacteria responsible for foodborne outbreaks and significantly reduce the typical public health response time to outbreaks from weeks to days using next-generation sequencing platforms.
