WAKEFIELD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Implant Sciences Corporation (AMEX: “IMX”, “IMX.WS”) a developer and manufacturer of products for national security, medicine and industry, today announced financial results for the first quarter ended September 30, 2006. Total revenues for the three months ended September 30, 2006 were $5,580,000 as compared to $4,672,000 for the comparable prior year period, an increase of $908,000 or 19%. The increase in total revenues for the quarter ended September 30, 2006 is primarily attributable to growth in our Semiconductor business with Semiconductor revenues of $3,939,000 for the three months ended September 30, 2006 as compared to $3,122,000 for the comparable prior year period. We continue to experience strong growth at our Accurel subsidiary and also realized increased sales of source conditioning systems from our Core Systems subsidiary. Our Medical revenues, primarily from the sale of prostate seeds and orthopedic implant coatings, remains consistent at $1,160,000 of Medical revenues for the three months ended September 30, 2006 as compared to $1,149,000 for the comparable prior year period.
