SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Illumina, Inc. (NASDAQ:ILMN) announced today that it has introduced two new products in its Infinium™ Whole-Genome Genotyping product line, the HumanHap300-Duo and the HumanHap300-Duo+ Genotyping BeadChips. These products are the world’s first multi-sample whole-genome genotyping arrays, enabling researchers to analyze two samples simultaneously, with over 634,000 total tag SNPs on a single BeadChip, 317,000 tag SNPs per sample. The content for both products is based on the HumanHap300 Genotyping BeadChip, launched earlier this year. Consistent with the HumanHap300, the new products deliver a level of genomic coverage that would require more than twice the number of randomly selected SNPs. By leveraging the power of tag SNPs, which act as proxies for other SNPs, a much higher level of genomic coverage can be obtained. The novel ability of the Infinium Assay to access virtually any SNP in the genome makes it possible to design products leveraging this informational power.
