According to a letter published in JAMA by researchers from the CDC, rates of HIV diagnosis in the U.S. declined from 2002-2011. This result is the conclusion of data examined from the National HIV Surveillance System at the CDC. HIV is the virus responsible for causing AIDS, which weakens and ravages the immune system.
