On Monday, Bloomberg cited unnamed sources in reporting that antibiotics developer Tetraphase is considering a sale to one of two Swiss drug giants. My first thought was: If the small Watertown biotech is going to be sold, why wouldn’t it be the the largest company focused on anti-bacterial drugs in the world, which also just happens to be about seven miles to the north?
