LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - May 12, 2008) - HemaCare Corporation (OTCBB: HEMA) announced today first quarter 2008 results. The Company generated $8.6 million in revenue, a 3% improvement, over the first quarter of 2007 excluding discontinued operations. Net income was $87,000 for continuing operations, compared to a loss of $317,000 for the first quarter of 2007 excluding discontinued operations. The gross profit rate, which was 17.5% compared to 13.8%, was the principal driver of this $404,000 improvement in net income.
