An inflammation-related blood protein that can signal an increased risk for heart disease can also tell who may be at risk for colon cancer, a study said on Tuesday. But researchers at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions in Baltimore said more research was needed before it could be determined what benefit the findings may have in helping prevent the second-leading cause of cancer death in the United States.
