Halozyme Therapeutics, Inc. Raises $40 Million in Public Offering of Common Stock

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Halozyme Therapeutics, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company developing and commercializing products targeting the extracellular matrix, today announced that it has raised gross proceeds of $40 million through the public offering of 6,150,000 million newly issued shares of its common stock. The public offering price of $6.50 per share represents a discount of 11.6% relative to the average closing share price during the five trading days preceding the public offering. Net proceeds, after underwriting discounts and commissions and expenses, will be approximately $38.2 million. Jefferies & Company, Inc. is the sole underwriter for this offering. The offering is expected to close on June 26, 2009, subject to customary closing conditions.
