Hair Dyes, Smoking Raise Risk for Liver Disease, Manchester Royal Infirmary Study

MedPage Today -- Smokers may want to leave their hair its natural color if they want to avoid primary biliary cirrhosis, British researchers suggested. Exposure to hair dye and smoking were the two most significant environmental risk factors for the disease in two separate case-control cohorts, reported Martin Prince, MBBS, PhD, of Manchester Royal Infirmary in Manchester, England, and colleagues.
