GigaGen Promotes Adam Adler, Ph.D., to Chief Scientific Officer

GigaGen Inc., a biopharmaceutical company developing novel antibody therapies, today announced the promotion of Adam Adler, Ph.D., to Chief Scientific Officer (CSO).

Previously, Dr. Adler was the company’s Vice President of Research and Development. In addition, Gigagen has promoted Rena Mizrahi, Ph.D to Vice President of Process Development and Catherine Medina to Vice President of Operations.

Dr. Adler joined GigaGen in 2014 as the company’s Director of Research and Development. He successfully spearheaded the company’s early discovery research and growth of the company’s research and development team. In 2016, Dr. Adler was promoted to Vice President of Research and Development where he assumed full responsibility for laboratory research operations and pipeline development in immuno-oncology and immune deficiency. He has used his expertise in cutting-edge technologies, including microfluidics, protein engineering and genomics, to create GigaGen’s immune analysis and drug discovery technology, Surge™. This has enabled rapid pipeline development including the world’s first recombinant intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) for primary immune deficiencies that led to a co-development partnership with Grifols in 2017. Prior to GigaGen, Dr. Adler worked in cancer biology at Genentech and Stanford. He has authored over 25 research publications in leading journals and has presented at multiple scientific conferences, including most recently at the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) 2018 Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.
