SKANEATELES FALLS, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Charles “Chuck” Evans, 99, former CEO and chairman of the board of directors at Welch Allyn, a leading global manufacturer of frontline medical products and solutions, died in Naples, Fla., on September 1, 2009. On assignment with the Surgeon General’s Office during WWII, Evans came to Welch Allyn as an Army officer charged with ensuring that the company could continue to supply the military with the necessary medical devices needed to support the troops. After the war ended, company President WG Allyn hired Evans to help successfully move Welch Allyn into the post-WWII era.
