Foot and ankle treatment is emerging as a new speciality in orthopaedics. It was one of the most neglected fields until recently. But in the last few years orthopaedic surgeons have developed many new techniques to deal with ankle and foot injuries.
“Initially, there were only rigid implants to correct any injuries for the ankle and foot. But now developed world has come out with flexible implants too,” said Dr Mark Hardy from USA at the international conference of the Vidarbha Orthopaedic Society (VOSCON) on Sunday.
