FDA Clashes with Procter & Gamble over Hand Sanitizer

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has warned Procter & Gamble Co. regarding claims the company is making about its hand sanitizer for children.According to a Reuters report, the FDA sent Procter a warning letter about its Vicks Early Defense Foaming Hand Sanitizer. It said claims that the product can prevent colds among schoolchildren and fight germs for up to three hours are unsubstantiated, and called the claims “unlawful,” Reuters said.
